Jeri Rogers, Editor and founder of Artemis is an alumna of Hollins University.

The mission of Artemis is to foster excellence in the arts and literature in the Blue Ridge Mountains and beyond. Throughout our history, Artemis has presented many educational and cultural events, school mentorship programs, and collaborations with many area colleges and universities. Artemis creates a place for many contributors to debut their work along side many professional artists and writers, including National and State Poet Laureates, a T.S. Eliot Prize, winner, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts Literary Prizewinners, an NAACP Image Award Recipient, and numerous other award winners.

As a small press, Artemis Journal relies on the generosity of our readers to help support this unique contribution to art and literature. Artemis is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Artemis is grateful to the Roanoke Arts Commission for its continued support of our missions to publish artists and writers of the Blue Ridge Mountains and beyond. 10% of the sale of book earnings will be donated to the Women’s Resource Center in Radford, Virginia, a women’s shelter for abused women. Artemis supports fair trade policies, artists and women-based businesses.
