It was said that a hurricane was coming
our way. School was cancelled for the remainder of the week.
But, the hurricane never came. The deadly, category 4 storm never hit. Hardly any
rain fell, with barely a rise in water levels. A category 4 was supposed to hit us, and it
didn’t. There’ve been nor’easters that were much stronger and hit harder than what happened
this weekend. The day was dull and cloudy. No one knew where the damage was. The storm had
slowed and hammered on the Carolinas, particularly the North. There was flooding everywhere,
disaster in the streets. There were fallen trees, houses with no power. Lives were even stolen by
the storm. The immense amount of damage done was due to the speed and power of the
storm. It had rained long and hard. All of it, the heavy rain and blistering wind;
it could’ve happened to us, but it didn’t.
It was so close to hitting us.
