The Day For Lovers by Edward W. Lull

Although the days grow longer now,
the grip of winter’s chill
will not release the snow and ice;
the cold is with us still.

Mid-February has its charm
despite the frigid air,
when lovers yield to their desires
with warmth they wish to share.

Just halfway through this shortest month,
for those who are inclined,
they celebrate with fond embrace:
they’re bodies intertwined.

How right it is to have this day
to let emotions flow,
and show the ones we love the most
we care more than they know.

Happy Valentines Day!
