“Popa’s distinctive voice … and her poems consistently engaged me. [They] often surprised me.  I admired her willingness to address contemporary social problems, [as well as] her passion, intelligence, conscience, and stylistic inventiveness.  After finishing many of her poems, I wanted to reread them.  For me, that’s a sign of good poetry.”

Henry Hart, Final Judge, Virginia Poet Laureate, 2018-2020,
