Cento for Water
There is a river under this poem
pouring out of every orifice
from the smallest cradle of dew.
Melody spilling from my ears.
The water understands
persistence & insistence.
Take it from the tears of the poets.
When we’re sure of nothing,
trust they might know something
about the flesh and the soul.
What I mean to say is
we are not unspectacular things.
