Hermes and The Cattle of Apollo

I am appalled by this god,
no man this small
accepts a title so big.
He shall remain in Tartarus,
lie there with beasts
and suffer with them.

His own half-brother;
how could he do this?
Trick him, lead his way
to the wrong path. Kill
his cows and string them.
To his own advantage, how
could he do this?

How motionless they lay.
How quiet, how sad, how
angry he made me. Shall I
get revenge? Shall I be mad?
